About Me
I became a doula in April of 2020, after my first son was born in January of that same year. I experienced the growth and change of motherhood - matrescence, in a way that felt was lacking in support. I knew that I wanted to change that for other moms and bring more support to this area.
I originally focused heavily on birth and labor support. While I still work largely with birth clients, I also now offer fertility support, postpartum support, and birth keepsakes (placenta, umbilical cord) as well as placenta encapsulation.
I am a mother of two and have experienced struggle and loss within the growth of my own family, leading me to develop a passion and deep understanding for the difficulties relating to infertility and pregnancy loss. I have experienced medicated birth in the hospital, with my first, and with my second child went on to have unassisted birth in my home.
I have a deep love for all things natural health and I believe strongly in the importance of bodily autonomy.
I am a certified holistic doula through H.E.R.B.A.L. I chose certification through this academy because they do not attempt to place a scope on my work, allowing me to serve mothers in the way they desire and the way that I am most comfortable. H.E.R.B.A.L. offers me freedom, as well as access to all of my learning materials and a rich community of supportive peers, birth workers, midwives, and other maternal health services. I frequently take continuing ed courses in breastfeeding, labor, car seat safety, and more areas.
I desire for every woman to be supported in the birth setting she chooses, surrounded by people she trusts. I believe in every woman’s innate ability to conceive, birth, and nourish her baby.
